How should I pay down my debt using my tax refund?

I received my tax refund of approx 2K. I have a credit card debt of 3K and an computer i financed whose total debt is 1500. How should I split my check among my two debts? I heard paying off a credit card too fast was bad. (The credit card and the computer are at the exact same interest rate.) I will save my suggestions because I hope to here from a seasoned player of the credit game. Thank in advance.

What can I do about debt collection letters wrongly sent to me?

I keep letters from collection agencys trying to get me to pay debts that are not mine. Is there any way to stop them or maybe charge them for the harassment. Each time it is always the wrong social security number,not mine.I cant believe that it is legal to send people a bill for a debt that is not them.

Can a debt collecting agency garnish funds from your checking account?

I have some old debts hanging out there, under 5,000. I’m planning on opening my first checking account in a while. Could my undead debt collectors dip into my account, and if so how much could they take (I read somewhere 10%, though I think that only applied to wage garnishment)?
